Avisail Garcia Has A Hit In First Rehab Game
2 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout while serving as the designated hitter in his first minor league rehab game with Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Barring a setback on what will likely be a short rehab assignment in the minors, Garcia should return from the injured list at some point this week to finish off the 2022 regular season in the big leagues. After hitting a career-high 29 home runs with the Milwaukee Brewers last year, the 31-year-old Venezuelan slugger has disappointed with the Fish and is currently batting .230/.267/.316 with only seven home runs, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and four stolen bases in 339 at-bats.
