Auston Matthews Books Another Big Day, Scores Three Points
6 years agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews scored two goals, including one on the power play, and an assist in Thursday night's win over Vegas. It was the second straight three-point night for Matthews as he continues a career year that is seeing him set a career-high in points per game (1.23) and power play goals (10). Amazingly, Matthews has more multi-point games this season (17), than he does games where he records only a single point (10), making him a premier option especially in daily formats as when he scores it tends to come in bunches. Matthews is an elite fantasy option, but keep in mind that he is riding a 19.1 percent shooting percentage that sits significantly above his 16.6 percent career average so he may cool off a bit as the playoffs approach.
