The 24-year-old struggled at the plate following his promotion to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre in July, but a recent surge has improved his slash line to a .260/.351/.479 mark. Wells has hit safely in eight of his last 10 appearances, homering four times over the last five games. Offensive production is vital for Wells, considering his defensive ability at catcher is average at best. He's the eighth-ranked prospect in the Yankees farm system, standing out with 55-grade power alongside a demonstrated ability to hit for average and draw walks.
