Austin Romine Stays Red-Hot In Victory
6 years agoWhile rarely getting full games considering he’s the backup catcher, Austin Romine is currently on a tear for the New York Yankees. The 29-year-old rode a nine-game hitting streak into Friday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, making his regular start with Sonny Gray on the mound. He would record two hits from the eight spot in the order, including an RBI double in the sixth. He’s now on a 10-game hitting streak, while also safely reaching base in 13 consecutive. For the season, Romine now is hitting .375 with 16 RBI through 20 games.
