Austin Romine Starting, Greg Bird Back In On Monday
6 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Austin Romine is in the starting lineup and will bat eighth on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Romine will have to assume starting catcher duties going forward, as Gary Sanchez (groin) has been placed on the disabled list. Romine has hit well in part-time work this season, so he's a safe play for daily fantasy players looking for a catcher to stream on Monday. First baseman Greg Bird is back in the lineup after a day off, while Giancarlo Stanton will play left field and pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga will bat ninth. It should be noted that Stanton is 1-for-12 with one home run and five strikeouts in his career against Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez. Aaron Judge, Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres have never faced the right-hander. If started, players should probably expect an early feeling-out process.
