Austin Riley Swats A Pair Of Home Runs In Victory
1 year agoAtlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and a pair of strikeouts in an 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Riley opened up the scoring with a two-run shot off Aaron Nola in the bottom of the first inning then victimized Nola again in the bottom of the fifth with a solo shot. Both home runs traveled a combined 917 feet and proved to be the difference in the back-and-forth contest. After a slow start to the season, Riley has really picked things up at the dish over the last 15 games, batting .305 with a .896 OPS. For the year, the 26-year-old is slashing .264/.338/.456 to go along with nine home runs and 26 RBI across 193 at-bats.
