Austin Riley Blasts 23rd Homer On Thursday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI on Thursday during an 8-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The 24-year-old collected his 23rd homer, a two-run shot, off of Cardinals relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos during the eighth inning. Riley has had a breakout season, posting a .292/.372/.525 line with 23 homers, 65 RBI, and 57 runs over 383 at-bats. The slugger has developed into a well-rounded option at the hot corner and has earned a cushy spot in a strong Braves lineup. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues, especially, should be ecstatic with the former first-rounder's ascent into a rock-solid contributor.
