Austin Meadows Homers, Snaps 0-For-8 Skid Wednesday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Austin Meadows snapped an 0-for-8 streak on Wednesday afternoon, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base against the Pirates. His two-run blast in the third inning was Meadows' first home run since March 7, and his fourth of Spring Training. Meadows had a down year in 2020, posting career-lows with a .205 average and .667 OPS, while striking out at a career-high rate of 32.9 percent over 36 games. However, that could be chalked up to dealing with the after-effects of COVID-19. Look for Meadows to have a nice bounce-back campaign in 2021.
