Austin Martin Has Five Hits At Double-A
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays prospect Austin Martin went 5-for-6 and drove in four runs on Saturday. The 22-year-old is playing in his first pro season after being selected fifth overall in the 2020 amateur draft; at one point he had been projected as the top pick in the draft due to his strong hit tool. Martin is now hitting .287 with an on-base percentage just shy of .400. He has a 130 wRC+ through 34 games after jumping right from college baseball to Double-A. He's also displaying valuable defensive versatility and has been splitting his time between shortstop and center field. Martin is ranked by Rotoballer as the 24th-best dynasty prospect.
