Austin Hill qualified 34th for his first Chicago Street Course race in the NASCAR Cup Series. He has driven at this track in the Xfinity Series twice before, finishing fifth in last year's rain-shortened event and 7th in yesterday's race, where he passed Sammy Smith for the lead on a restart and led eight laps before being passed by his rookie teammate, Jesse Love. Hill has not had much speed in his previous Cup Series starts for Richard Childress Racing this year, but despite qualifying 34th, he should somewhat outperform his subpar average finish of 35.5 this year because both his teammates Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon have had a faster average speed on road courses this seaon than on most other track types. However, since he's not particularly noted as a road racer and RCR is having a terrible season, it's also hard to imagine Austin Hill seriously contending on Sunday.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
