Austin Hedges Smashes Three-Run Bomb
6 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Austin Hedges crushed a three-run homer en route to a 2-for-3 night Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hedges put the Padres on the board in the fifth inning with his fourth blast of the season and is now 10-for-35 (.286) with two dingers since his return from the disabled list on June 24. He's raised his average from .173 to .209 in the process. Catcher is an infamously difficult fantasy position to manage but Hedges is as viable a candidate as any lower-tier backstop to ride when he's hot. He went yard 18 times in 417 plate appearances in 2017.
