Austin Dillon Wants To Surprise People At Indy Road Course
1 year agoHeading into the final three races of the regular season, Austin Dillon is in 29th place in the points standings and needs a win if he wants to make the playoffs. There is no chance that he's going to point his way into the postseason, and the driver of the No. 3 Chevrolet knows that. Earlier this week, Austin stated, "We have to win. That gives us the opportunity to be aggressive, and to make moves and strategy calls that maybe you otherwise wouldn't if you were racing for points." Dillon qualified back in 27th place for Sunday's Verizon 200 at The Brickyard, so he will have to definitely make some strategy calls to get to the front. However, if he's able to get up there, the No. 3 Chevrolet showed good speed in practice on Saturday, ending up with the seventh-fastest five-lap average in his group. In DFS contests, Dillon has big place-differential upside and is a definite option to roster on Sunday.
