Austin Dillon Begins 11th At New Hampshire
1 year agoAustin Dillon had a mixed bag type of Saturday at qualifying. While he wound up 11th, his No. 3 Chevy seemed to lose more and more speed. Dillon's five and ten-lap averages only got worse and his practice lap ranked 32nd at 31.233 seconds. Losing that many tenths of a second is troublesome and seemed to be a theme for some Chevy cars. The Richard Childress Racing team has had trouble on flat, shorter tracks like this. Dillon does not have a single top ten in his past three efforts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Even his driver rating slid back 23 points (75.2 to 55.2).
