Asdrubal Cabrera Doubles, Homers In Diamondbacks Win
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks infielder Asdrubal Cabrera had his first multi-hit performance of the spring on Tuesday, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. It was a slow start to the spring for Cabrera, as he was 1-for-12 through his first five games, but he now has four hits over his last three games, including two doubles and a home run. Cabrera looks set to fill a utility role with the Diamondbacks after playing all over the infield this spring, but his value will be somewhat limited as he will likely be filling in sporadically to give starters a day off. When he's able to play though, he can be provide decent value with his bat, coming off a 2020 campaign in which he slashed .242/.305/.447 with eight home runs in 52 games for Washington. Managers in NL-only leagues should look at him late in drafts as a possible target for his bat as well as his potential to increase his positional flexibility this year.
