10 months agoThe Oakland Athletics are spreading around their international bonus-pool money this year, bringing in a deep class that includes four prospects on Baseball America's top-100 international prospect list -- shortstop Edgar Montero, outfielder Jose Ramos, right-hander Erick Matos and outfielder Sebastian Rojas. The A's have seen the switch-hitting Dominican Montero blossom from a skinny kid with a strong glove into a well-built player with power potential in the future. Ramos and Rojas hail from Venezuela, and the A's are very high on Ramos' overall skill set. Rojas' profile was compared to that of former A's outfielder Ramon Laureano. Matos is from Cuba and is already 6-foot-4 and can touch 94 mph with a smooth delivery and a power breaking ball to go along with his fastball.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
