A's Designate Jesus Aguilar For Assignment
1 year agoThe Oakland Athletics designated first baseman/designated hitter Jesus Aguilar for assignment on Monday, according to sources. Aguilar gets the boot off the team's 40-man roster after hitting .221 (23-for-104) with two doubles, five home runs and nine RBI in 36 games played. He had walked eight times and struck out 31 times in 115 trips to the plate. The 32-year-old veteran slugger could latch on elsewhere, though, as an option against left-handed pitching. Against southpaws so far in 2023, Aguilar hit .280 with four home runs and eight RBI in 50 at-bats. He can continue to go ignored in mixed fantasy leagues, though.
