Aroldis Chapman Tests Positive For COVID-19
4 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman tested positive for COVID-19, according to manager Aaron Boone. "He has mild symptoms, but he’s doing well," Boone said. The hard-throwing lefty closer will be out for the foreseeable future, and with just under two weeks until Opening Day on July 23, there's a chance that Chapman won't be ready now. Zach Britton, another lefty, could be the natural fit for the ninth inning if the Yanks don't have Chapman for the start of the regular season. Before this news Chapman was considered a top-three fantasy closer because of his elite strikeout rate. He'll likely slip a bit depending on when he gets cleared to return, but it could also make him a value pick. Britton is a valuable handcuff.
