Aroldis Chapman Shuts Boston Down In Save
7 years agoWith the New York Yankees holding on to a slim 3-2 lead Tuesday night in the Bronx, manager Aaron Boone called on closer Aroldis Chapman to finish off the Boston Red Sox. The Cuban Missile has been relatively dominant thus far, having blown just one save, but his night would begin against Rafael Devers, who famously homered off him last season at Yankee Stadium. This time, however, Chapman retired him with a ground ball back to the pitcher. After striking out the second batter, the 30-year-old plunked the third hitter, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate. Still, he induced one final grounder to finish the game, bringing the Yankees to a tie atop the American League East.
