Aroldis Chapman Records 22nd Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman picked up his 22nd save of the season in Sunday's win over the Marlins. Chapman fired 10 of 17 pitches for strikes, inducing three whiffs en route to a pair of strikeouts. The 33-year-old wasn't available during Saturday's game but has now converted each of his last six save opportunities, yielding just one run over his last seven innings while recording a 13:5 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Some of Chapman's underlying numbers spell trouble, though the results he's putting together right now are hard to argue with. He has fallen down the ranks, but Chapman should still be viewed as a top-10 closer.
