Aroldis Chapman Picks Up Win After Blown Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman blew the save but ultimately picked up the win in Wednesday's victory over Kansas City. Chapman attempted to protect a one-run lead, sandwiching a pair of strikeouts around a single. He then allowed another base hit, intentionally walked a batter, then walked in the tying run with the bases loaded. After surrendering the lead, the Yankees picked Chapman back up by rallying for the win. The southpaw's control has been questionable lately, perhaps due to the fingernail issue mentioned by manager Aaron Boone, as he has issued seven walks, including at least two in two straight appearances. The fact that he's been able to pitch through it suggests that it's not something that will cause him to miss time, though fantasy managers will want to see some more steady performances out of him.
