Aroldis Chapman Picks Up Two Saves Wednesday
6 years agoWith two close victories Wednesday, the New York Yankees had closer Aroldis Chapman work twice. In the first game of the day, the Cuban native allowed a hit in the ninth, but locked down the save with a pair of strikeouts. In the nightcap, he once again entered with a two-run lead and struck out two more. This time, however, he went hitless, tossing just nine pitches to finish off his day with 20 pitches thrown. While Chapman has caused some headaches in the early going this season, his 11 saves are second in the American League, while a 2.16 ERA is strong.
