Aroldis Chapman Locks Down 35th Save
5 years agoYankees closer Aroldis Chapman needed only 10 pitches to set down the Cleveland Indians in order on Saturday afternoon, securing a 6-5 victory. After Zach Britton allowed a run in the eighth inning, bringing Cleveland to within one run, Chapman quickly slammed the door the ninth, striking out Greg Allen before getting Francisco Lindor to pop out. Oscar Mercado then fouled out to first base, giving Chapman his league-leading 35th save of the year, putting him only three shy of his career-high of 38, achieved with the Reds in 2017 and 2018. Chapman remains a top-tier closer for one of baseball's best teams, making him an elite fantasy option coming down the stretch.
