Aroldis Chapman Gets His First Save Of The Season
4 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman finally picked up his first save of the season on Tuesday, striking out one over a clean inning against the Rays. An errant 101 mph fastball that wound up behind the head of Rays third baseman Mike Brosseau sparked some postgame animosity between the two teams, but Chapman looked good otherwise with his fastball sitting above 98 mph and touching triple digits as usual. Chapman struggled in his first two appearances since returning from a lengthy coronavirus related absence on August 17, but he hasn’t allowed a baserunner in either of his past two appearances and is likely to be one of the best closers in fantasy over the rest of the season after posting a 2.33 ERA and 2.19 FIP over the past two seasons.
