Aroldis Chapman Expected To Return This Season
2 years agoThe New York Yankees placed left-handed reliever Aroldis Chapman (leg) on the 15-day injured list on Saturday due to a left leg infection that stemmed from a new tattoo that he recently got. Skipper Aaron Boone said the last 24 to 36 hours "have been a lot better for Chapman." The Yankees expect Chapman to return this season. Before landing on the injured list last weekend, he hadn't pitched since Aug. 19 and had allowed three earned runs while walking four in one inning pitched in his last two appearances. It's been a tough year for the 34-year-old southpaw, as he has a 4.70 ERA (4.79 FIP) with a 1.43 WHIP, nine saves and 35 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings. With Clay Holmes off the injured list, Chapman may not have much use in fantasy the rest of the way.
