Aroldis Chapman Converts His 300th Career Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman closed out the team's 7-6 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday to earn his 24th save of the year and the 300th save of his career. The win was the Yankees' 12th in a row and it came in dramatic fashion as Aaron Judge broke a 6-6 tie in the top of the ninth before Chapman shut the door in the bottom of the ninth. Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out one. It was his first save since he was activated from the 10-day injured list last week. Chapman hasn't blown a save since July 4. He has a 3.77 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP on the year.
