Kyle Larson Leads The Most Laps, But Settles For A Top-10 Finish At Las Vegas
7 hours agoHendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson raced well at Las Vegas and ran inside the top 10 for most of the race on Sunday, finishing in the ninth position. Beginning the race from 10th, Larson had one of the faster cars in the earlier portion of Sunday's event. The No. 5 Chevrolet driver made it up to fifth and collected stage points in the process. In the second stage, Larson was at his best as he took the lead a couple of times and eventually held off the field to win the second stage. Larson continued to challenge for the lead in the earlier parts of stage three, but there would be continuous cautions over the course of the stage, causing Larson to pit and experiment with strategy multiple times. Larson's pit strategies would put him back in the pack, where he struggled to get back to the front compared to Ross Chastain or his teammate William Byron, who both drove back to the top five. Larson made it as high as ninth, settling for his 13th career top-10 finish despite leading the most laps of everyone (61).
