7 years agoMontreal Canadiens goaltender Antti Niemi has been named the starter for Friday night’s game against the Buffalo Sabres. Carey Price has returned to the lineup, but with a game Saturday night against Washington, Montreal has decided to split the starts. Montreal has lost each of their last four games, and nine of their last 10, but they have won all three games against Buffalo this season. Tonight’s game will be as good of a chance as any for Montreal to snap their losing streak, as Buffalo has dropped four of their last five matches, and have only scored 1.4 goals per game in that time. With only five games on the schedule tonight, options are limited, but Niemi offers some upside in an otherwise poor situation in Montreal.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
