Montreal Canadiens goaltender Antti Niemi made 34 saves but allowed four goals on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Canadiens managed to hold the Penguins through two periods to a 3-3 tie before Pittsburgh walked away with the match in the third frame. Niemi has been decent for the Canadiens, considering the team’s current state of despair, and has not allowed four goals in a match since joining Montreal in November. The 34-year-old veteran now holds a 5-7-4 record with a 3.26 goals-against average and .908 save percentage this season. Expect Niemi to earn a majority of the starts for the Canadiens until Montreal's No. 1 goaltender, Carey Price, fully recovers from a concussion, which may not happen before the end of the regular season.--Alex McKenzie
