Antonio Gibson May See Diminished Role In Week 5
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson appears to be at the end of the road as the unquestioned lead back in this offense. With rookie running back Brian Robinson being out for the first four weeks, the 24-year-old has been able to handle the majority of the usage out of the backfield. But now that Robinson has been medically cleared, Gibson will likely lose a significant portion of the work he's been seeing. It's still up in the air whether Robinson will play in Week 5, but even if he doesn't, the third-year back still might not be productive. The Commanders are going up against a Tennessee Titans defense that has allowed the second least fantasy points to opposing running backs so far this season. With those factors being taken into account, Gibson should be seen as a low-end RB2 in Week 5.
