Anthony Volpe Starting In Game 1 Of Doubleheader
4 months agoNew York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe (foot) is at shortstop and is batting seventh for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the visiting Texas Rangers and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Volpe departed Thursday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels after fouling a ball off his left foot, but he's good to go after the club's series opener against Texas was postponed due to inclement weather. The 23-year-old should be returned to fantasy lineups as a result. Volpe will be looking for his first career hit against Eovaldi, who he has already faced six times. On the year, the second-year shortstop has hit .257 (123-for-479) with 11 homers, 45 RBI, 20 stolen bases and 74 runs scored for the Bombers. He recently had a 10-game hitting streak snapped and is hitless in his last seven at-bats, so fantasy managers will be hoping he can get back on track during Saturday's doubleheader.
