Anthony Richardson Could Start Throwing Soon
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson's (shoulder) rookie season in 2023 was cut short by an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder that required surgery, but he's hoping to resume throwing in the near future, ahead of his doctors' projections. The Colts would have preferred that Richardson played the season out after drafting him fourth overall, but sitting out could actually benefit the young QB in the long term. "He got a chance to sit back, watch and learn. I had some good meetings with him throughout the season, just individually, me and him, sitting down talking football. Just seeing the NFL season as a whole," head coach Shane Steichen said. The 21-year-old should be ready well ahead of training camp this summer, and his combination of size and speed at the QB position will give him clear QB1 upside as Indy's quarterback of the future.
