Anthony Rendon Suspended Five Games
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon has been suspended five games by Major League Baseball following an interaction with a fan after an Opening Day loss versus the Oakland A's. Video footage showed Rendon grabbing the shirt of a fan as the Angels departed the playing field before attempting to strike the fan with an open hand. The former Nationals star missed Sunday's matchup with the A's due to a knee injury as he continues to battle health problems during his Angels tenure. The 32-year-old has appeared in just 105 games over the last two seasons due to a myriad of injuries while he hit just .229 with five home runs and a .706 OPS across 47 contests last season. If he does not appeal the suspension, Rendon will be eligible to return on Sunday against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
