Anthony Rendon Set For Live At-Bats This Week
5 months agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) is scheduled for live at-bats against minor-league pitchers on Friday and Saturday at Angel Stadium. Rendon could get anywhere from 15 to 20 at-bats each day. Despite having not played in a game since suffering a left-hamstring strain on April 20, it sounds like the Angels are considering activating the 34-year-old veteran from the injured list next week before the club heads to the All-Star break. The Halos are in even more need of infield help after just placing Luis Rengifo (wrist) on the IL on Friday. Still, Rendon will probably be eased back into action at the big-league level when he returns because of how long he's been out. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues can probably wait and see on Rendon after he hit .267 (20-for-75) with no homers and only three RBI earlier this year before getting hurt yet again.
