Anthony Rendon Returns From Injured List
4 months agoThe Los Angeles Angels reinstated infielder Anthony Rendon (back) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and placed outfielder Taylor Ward on the paternity list in a corresponding move. Rendon returns to the Angels on the first day that he was eligible to come off the 10-day IL, but he'll have to wait a day to get back in the starting lineup after Tuesday's contest in the Bronx against the New York Yankees was postponed due to rain. The 34-year-old has been out due to injuries more often than he's played for the Angels since joining the team before the 2020 season. In addition to his frequent injuries in Anaheim, Rendon has been a shell of his former All-Star self with the bat and will return to a .227 average (29-for-128) with a career-low .562 OPS. He has yet to homer in 33 games in 2024 and has driven in just six runs in 142 plate appearances.
