Anthony Rendon Going Back On The Injured List
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (hamstring) is going back on the injured list for the third time this season on Tuesday with a left hamstring strain. It's been the story of his season in 2021. Rendon just hasn't been able to get going because of the injuries this year, hitting a disappointing .240/.329/.382 with just six home runs, 24 runs scored and 34 RBI in 217 at-bats for the Halos. The good news is that Rendon will have the All-Star break to recover, and his fantasy managers will be hoping for a much better second half without all the injuries. Continue to stash him everywhere. Infielder Jack Mayfield was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, but he's hit just .168 in 150 big league plate appearances. Jose Rojas is starting at third and hitting ninth on Tuesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, but Luis Rengifo could also see some playing time at the hot corner with Rendon sidelined.
