Anthony Harris In No Rush To Sign Franchise Tag
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings safety Anthony Harris is in "no rush" to sign his franchise tag because he wants to work out a long-term extension, according to sources. The Vikings and Harris are expected to negotiate before the draft, but it doesn't look likely that anything will be agreed upon anytime soon. The two sides have until July 15 to work out an extension after Minnesota slapped Harris with the franchise tag somewhat surprisingly in March. Many believe the Vikings originally intended to tag and trade Harris to a team in need of a safety, but no teams were interested in the high asking price. The 28-year-old had 60 tackles (35 solo), career-high six interceptions (one for a TD), 11 passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 14 games in 2019.
