Anthony Edwards Hopes To Play Saturday
1 year agoMinnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (ankle) didn't play in Thursday's preseason win over the Mavericks. The 22-year-old sprained his ankle at practice in Abu Dhabi during the week. Fortunately, the injury isn't considered severe, with head coach Chris Finch hoping the All-Star will suit up for the rematch on Saturday. Edwards, who hasn't played less than 72 games in a season since entering the league, was a top producer for Team USA during the FIBA World Cup. He averaged a career-high 24.6 points last season and is predicted to be even more productive for the Timberwolves in 2023-24, meaning fantasy managers could hear his name in the MVP conversation at some point throughout the season.
