Anthony DeSclafani To Make Spring Debut Friday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) will make his Cactus League debut on Friday against the Texas Rangers. DeSclafani sustained multiple ankle injuries over the course of 2022, which culminated in a season-ending surgery to repair a tendon in his right ankle. He made just five starts and posted a 4.95 FIP with 17 strikeouts. For fantasy managers, the return of DeSclafani makes quite an impact. In 2021, the 32-year-old molded a 3.17 ERA with 152 strikeouts across 167 2/3 innings. He recorded two shutouts and posted a mediocre 18.1% strikeout rate. His stuff may not be overpowering, yet his effectiveness binds it all together. Assuming that everything goes according to plan in Desclafani's return, the Giants are expecting him to play a vital role in the rotation.
