Anthony DeSclafani Takes Loss On Wednesday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Anthony DeSclafani took his third loss of the season in a 7-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon. DeSclafani gave up three runs in 5 2/3 innings of work while striking out three and walking one. The veteran right-hander now has a 2-3 record, 4.97 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 55 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings of work. He has shown flashes of excellence this season but has mixed in a few duds along the way. That leaves him as a streaming option instead of an every-week starter thanks to his inconsistency. DeSclafani will face the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start, which will be on Wednesday.
