Anthony DeSclafani Lands On 10-Day IL Sunday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with right ankle inflammation, the team announced on Twitter. The move was made retroactive to August 19. DeSclafani exited his start on Wednesday with ankle soreness, and an MRI on Friday revealed no structural damage to his ankle. He's had a nice year on the mound so far, going 11-5 with a 3.26 ERA, 1.085 WHIP and 23 percent strikeout rate over 132 2/3 innings of work. To replace him on the roster, the Giants recalled pitcher Sammy Long from Triple-A Sacramento. Hopefully this shouldn't be too long of a stay for DeSclafani, as managers will miss having his arm in the lineup as we approach the fantasy playoffs.
