New York Rangers defenseman Anthony DeAngelo hit the waivers on Sunday, with the 25-year-old blueliner off to an awful start to the season. He was benched for two games after taking a bad penalty in the team's season opener and ended up being on the ice for four goals when Pittsburgh beat the Rangers in DeAngelo's comeback game which finished 5-4 in overtime. "This isn't about one incident, it's not about one thing," said Rangers head coach David Quinn on Sunday. DeAngelo, who was among the league's top-scoring defensemen in 2019-20 with 53 points, has only one point through six games this season. He signed a two-year extension worth $9.6 million with the club just a few months ago, so the move comes as a big surprise.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
