3 years agoLos Angeles Lakers power forward/center Anthony Davis (thumb) continues to pop up on the injury report, even though his probable designation for Wednesday's game against Miami likely won't impede him. Davis is coming off a monster 32-point, 12-rebound effort Monday in which he logged 44 minutes and took 25 shots. Without LeBron James (abdominal) in the mix, Davis stands to continue seeing an enormous workload on a nightly basis, irrespective of any thumb sprain. Davis has scored at least 22 points in eight of his first 11 games to begin the year.--Jesse Borek

2 weeks agoAccording to Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis (adductor) has been cleared for more on-court movements. He is set to be evaluated weekly by the Mavericks moving forward. Davis suffered a left adductor strain on February 8th during his first game in a Mavs uniform. If the 31-year-old can return this season, his veteran presence will boost his reeling club and the former Lakers center will make a massive impact in fantasy, as he has done throughout his career.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoESPN's Shams Charania said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show that Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis (thigh) could miss the remainder of the season due to a thigh injury he suffered during his first game in a Mavs uniform on Feb. 8. Charania also reported more devastating news for the club on Tuesday, stating that Kyrie Irving (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of this year's campaign after he suffered a torn ACL on Monday against Sacramento. Davis was having a fantastic season before his injury, posting averages of 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 blocks in 34.2 minutes per contest.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

1 month agoDallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis (adductor) was already expected to be out "multiple" weeks in an earlier report from Shams Charania and Tim McMahon from ESPN. In their latest report that confirmed Daniel Gafford (knee) is out for six weeks, they also said that sources told them Davis is expected to miss "at least four weeks." The report also suggests that the Mavericks are going to be cautious about Davis' recovery since he was the headlining piece in the trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kessler Edwards got the start at center in their last game while Naji Marshall and Olivier-Maxence Prosper saw a big increase in opportunities as well.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

1 month agoDallas Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis (adductor) is expected to miss "multiple weeks," ESPN's Shams Charania and Tim MacMahon report. His absence may extend to even a month. Fortunately for the Mavericks, Davis was injured only a week before the All-Star break, but he is still set to miss significant time. Davis has joined Dereck Lively II (ankle) on the sidelines. On Monday against the Sacramento Kings, the frontcourt will also be missing P.J. Washington (ankle), leaving Daniel Gafford with a heavy workload.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
