Anthony Bender Finally Allows A Run
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie relief pitcher Anthony Bender allowed the first two runs of his major league career in Tuesday's loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Bender tossed one inning, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks, striking out two while throwing three wild pitches. Bender was absolutely all over the place in his inning of work and it was really the first appearance of his major league career where he wasn't outright dominant. His ERA skyrocketed from 0.00 to 0.81. He's the best reliever in the Marlins bullpen, but he'll continue to pitch in games the Marlins are trailing because manager Don Mattingly values experience over results.
