Anthony Bass Bounces Back With A Clean Ninth Inning
4 years agoMiami Marlins closer Anthony Bass bounced back from Friday's ugly blown save with a clean ninth inning in Saturday's win over the Rays. Bass ended up facing just three hitters, striking one out to wrap up the game. It wasn't a save situation, but it was good to see Bass come through with a clean inning to give the Marlins the win. He's the guy in Miami, and with Don Mattingly managing, Bass will keep the job for a while even if he struggles. He doesn't have the strikeout upside of other closers, but he should be solid enough to put some saves up in the stat sheet as the season goes on.
