Anthony Bass Blows Save Versus Marlins
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Anthony Bass suffered his first blown save of the season during Tuesday’s contest versus the Marlins. The right-hander issued a double and a free pass before allowing a three-run homer to Francisco Cervelli to tie the game and send it to extras. It was the first earned runs on the season for Bass, who had worked 6 1/3 scoreless with three saves entering the day. The 32-year-old doesn’t possess a high strikeout arm, but as long as he continues to get the save opportunities with Toronto, he has fantasy value. Although with Jordan Romano and Rafael Dolis both pitching well in set up roles, one or two bad outings could bump him from the job.
