6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Anthony Banda underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday. He is expected to be out until 2020. Manager Kevin Cash expressed disappointment and said that Banda was an "exciting young arm." Banda became the fourth Rays prospect to have the surgery this season. Obviously, this eliminates his value in redraft leagues and he becomes mostly just a long-term stash in extremely deep dynasty formats.--Jamie Mellor
