Anthony Alford Exits Game Early On Saturday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Anthony Alford exited Saturday's game early with what is described as right wrist discomfort, according to Alex Stumpf of DK Pittsburgh Sports. Alford was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning while facing Corey Kluber, and he was quickly removed from the game. There is no official word yet on how long this might keep Alford out, if at all. Alford had turned heads with his performance on Thursday, as he appeared to become the frontrunner for the starting center field job. If this injury keeps him out for an extended period of time, that opens up the potential for Jared Oliva, Dustin Fowler, Bryan Reynolds or Brian Goodwin to get more playing time.
