Angels Closing In On Deal With Matt Moore
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels are closing in on a deal with free-agent left-hander Matt Moore on Thursday, according to a source. The 33-year-old southpaw had a great 1.95 ERA and held opponents to a .564 OPS in 74 relief innings pitched for the Texas Rangers last year. The deal is expected to be for one year, but financial terms were not disclosed. In addition to his 1.95 ERA, Moore had a 1.18 WHIP, his first five career saves and 83 strikeouts. A starter for most of his career, he's likely to continue in a relief role for the Halos in 2023 and could be added to the saves committee in Anaheim alongside Carlos Estevez, Jimmy Herget and Ryan Tepera. At the bare minimum, Moore may be worth looking at in deep holds leagues in his new home.
