2 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels have claimed infielder Jonathan Villar off waivers from the Chicago Cubs, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Villar was designated for assignment by the Cubs about a week ago. He slashed .222/.271/.327 with two home runs, six stolen bases, 15 RBI and 19 runs over 46 games in a Cubs uniform this year. He'll help give some infield depth to the Angels, who lost third baseman Anthony Rendon (wrist) for the year and are still awaiting the return of middle infielder David Fletcher (hip).--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
