2 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels will activate right-hander Griffin Canning (groin) from the injured list on Wednesday, and the team is demoting Andrew Wantz in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old was in a rotation battle during Spring Training but was ultimately placed on the injured list after experiencing groin discomfort. Canning's expected to start Wednesday's matchup against the Washington Nationals. Fantasy managers shouldn't get too excited, as Canning last pitched in the majors during the 2021 season, posting a 5.60 ERA, 22.4% strikeout rate, and 1.48 WHIP across 62.2 innings. However, Canning has some potential, as he showed in his first two campaigns in the big leagues with a 4.36 ERA and 24.4% strikeout rate.
